Saturday 28th September: Wild Academy Under 18s 1 – Sutton Under 18s 1 (U18s North 2)

The Wild Academy Under 18s team notched up their first ever league point with a 1-1 draw at home to Sutton U18s at Planet Ice Widnes on Saturday.

The Wild took the lead after just 90 seconds of the game with a short-handed goal by Benjamin Fox and the score remained 1 – 0 at the first period break. Sutton scored the equaliser just 1 minute into the second period and that rounded off the scoring for the game.

The visitors enjoyed more possession overall and out-shot the Wild by 34 – 17 but Widnes netminder Jake Lowndes put in a great performance to keep out all but one of them.
