The Widnes Wild are pleased to announce that both Chris Preston and Daniel Bracegirdle will be returning for the 2014/15 season.
The two experienced players who have spent their ice hockey careers in the North West will once again proudly be playing in the black and gold of the Widnes Wild.
For many fans Chris Preston is a physical embodiment of the Widnes Wild with his never give up attitude and the fearless way he stood up to larger opposing players and dropping the gloves when necessary. One of the most memorable was his fight against Mike Jones from Deeside, who had to be about double the size of Chris which left Chris with a huge lump on his head
Bracegirdle was an ever present in the team last season and was credited with the goal of the season at the end of season, scoring against Nottingham Lions after just three seconds of the game and inspiring the Wild to their first victory against the Lions.
Wild GM Mick Caunce said; “it is great news for the club that we’ve secured Preston and Bracegirdle for next season. Both bring experience and are representative of the work ethic and team ethos that we built last season and which we expect to be the hallmark of future Wild teams.”
