The YKK Widnes Wild are delighted to announce the signing of Daniel “Dani” Haid as a third import. When it became clear that the injury to Michal Novak was severe and long-term the Wild sought to secure the services of Dani. Unfortunately, due to Christmas this weekend is the first weekend that Dani will ice for the Wild, covering for Michal who is currently overseas.
Dani has played for the Chemnitz Crashers in the German 4 league since 2014 and has averaged 1.11 points per game. Dani is a highly skilled forward with a great skating ability. Speaking about his signing for the Wild, Dani said, “I am excited to play league hockey in the UK and want to help Widnes play a successful season.”
It is the Wild’s intent to have three imports for the remainder of the season, hopefully ensuring that the Wild will have two imports available for each game. Selection will be based on availability and form with consideration being given to the number of games being played each weekend.
Mike Clancy, Widnes Wild Head Coach said,
“It is great that the club have been able to bring in a third import to ensure we remain as competitive as possible. Dani is a great player and will complement the team and the recruitment of Dani was discussed with the team”.
Dani will wear the number 44 shirt which is available to own ‘n’ loan here.
