Double delight for Wild this week as first line forward Shaun Dippnall and youngster Tom Ratcliffe return for 2014/15 season.
Dippnall was ever present alongside Bobby Caunce and formed a solid partnership which ran the length of the season. Playing together on a powerful second line before both moving up to the first line alongside Supa which proved to be a successful line and played a huge part in Wild climbing the table to reach the 5th place play-off position. Dippnall was Wilds third top scorer for the season weighing in with 14 goals and 19 assists to close his first full season playing on Ice.
18-Year-Old Tom Ratcliffe enjoyed regular ice time for his first senior season, mainly taking a role on third and fourth line, but given various opportunities on the first and second.
“Playing at Widnes this season has been one of the best seasons that I have played for many reasons.
I feel I have improved a lot this season due to the support from fans, players and mainly the coaches.
I look forward to the start of next season, and even the trails that are ongoing throughout summer.
I want to improve more as an individual next season to be the best I can be and hopefully we can finish higher up the league table this season and, if possible, take a better playoff position.”
It’s great to have two more Wild ones back for next season, and we will announcing another new signing next Thursday!
