It is with great delight that the RTL Widnes Wild announce the return of Slovakian forward Michal Fico. With an average of 1.15 points per game Michal was an ever present in the Wild last season and a firm fans’ favourite.
Wild GM John Anderson said;
“It’s great to have Michal Fico back in a Wild jersey this season. Michal’s a very dynamic player that wears his heart on his sleeve, gives 100% every shift and is a very frustrating guy to play against.”
“Michal’s been training extremely hard in the off season and is fitter and stronger than ever, so I’m very pleased with his progress and dedication”.
Commenting on his return to the Wild Michal said;
“I’m very pleased and happy sign for a Wild this season as I totally enjoyed my first season last year and I’m sure this year will be even better. At the end of the season I did not feel very good because we did not succeed in playoff. That’s why i put lot of work this summer on my mental and physical condition to be better player and help my team. We have a job to done. That job is a league title.”
“Also need to say I’m looking forward to see all the fans. Widnes is a hockey town. We have the best fans in the league and for me is like to have sixth player on the ice.”
In relation to the recent changes at the Wild Michal wanted to send this message to the #WildOnes;
“It is sad news for the Wild that Scott McKenzie is leaving. He is a special coach and player to play with. I really learned a lot last season but it is what it is and we need to move on and win that league no matter what.”
Once again Michal will wear the #18 on his RTL Widnes Wild home, away and warm up shirts, all of which are available to own and loan. For more information, please click here;
