After time away in the USPHL Tom had this to say of his return, “I have improved largely as a player and I have learnt a lot about the game. I am excited to return to Widnes as it is where I started my senior career. Having watched the highlights since being away, I have seen the team grow and improve throughout the year. I hope to add to what Scott has already built.”
As Tom has been in America he is warning fans to expect a whole new player than what they had last year. ”Since being away I have been on the ice a great deal, my attitude towards the game is different and I can’t wait to be back in front of the best fans in the league, hopefully on Sunday night.”
All paperwork being completed on time Tom should make his debut for the Wild against Blackburn Eagles on the 31st January. Great work from Wild manager John Anderson, Tom’s father Nick as well as the EIHA & IHUK has given the Halton based side the opportunity to get Tom wearing the white, yellow & black Widnes Wild colours.
Player coach Scott McKenzie is thrilled to add a player of Ratcliffe’s ability to his already strong line up. Mckenzie said, “Tom skated with us over Christmas and you could see a massive change in his whole character.” Scott added, ”We will be losing Sheldon Cassidy for around a month so Ratty will slide right into the line up and when we get Sheldon back our depth will make us stronger.”
Thomas Ratcliffe will be wearing the number 40 jersey for Widnes Wild. His Home, Away & Cup jersey’s are available for ‘Own & Loan’. If you are interested in purchasing one of Tom’s jersey’s then please email; firstname.lastname@example.org.
The next home game for the Widnes Wild is on the 31st of January against Blackburn Eagles. Tickets can be bought through the box office at Silver Blades Ice Rink Widnes.
