The YKK-sponsored Widnes Wild are pleased to announce that Danny Bullock will be returning to the team for the forthcoming 2019/20 Laidler Division season.
It will be Bullock’s 6th season in Widnes colours since he first joined the club for the 2014/15 season.
Having been sidelined with injuries for long spells during the previous two seasons, last season was injury free and turned out to be Danny’s best ever campaign in terms of points scored.
The 6’1”, 205 lb, left hander – who can play forward or defence – notched up a career best 19 goals and 24 assists in 26 regular season games and 2+2 in the Laidler play offs.
Bullock played junior hockey with Blackburn, Manchester and Deeside teams and also played a season of NIHL North 2 with the Deeside based Flintshire Freeze team in 2008/9 scoring 10+6 in 20 ENL games.
Since joining the Wild, Bullock has played 107 league, play off and challenge games for Widnes and he also made a guest appearance for the Manchester Phoenix EPL team when they played a few home matches at the Planet Ice rink in Widnes in January 2017.
In that time, he has notched up 53 goals, 43 assist and 114 penalty minutes and he was presented with a special award at the end of last season for having reached the 100 games landmark.
Talking about his return to the club for the new season, Danny said:
“I’m happy to be back at Widnes for another year. It has been my home for 5 seasons now and I’m looking forward to seeing the new faces around the team.”
“I hope we can build on what we achieved last year and that I can help take the club take the next step.”
Wild head coach Mike Clancy said of Bullock’s return:
“I am thrilled the 29-year-old forward has agreed to re-join the Widnes Wild for the 2019/20 season. Danny has grown his team contribution year on year and been with the Wild since the 2014/15 season, and after a career high points tally season that saw him at the top end of the team’s scoring charts with 43 points from 26 games, I felt it was a must to convince him to return.”
“I expect Danny to build on last year’s tally – not just in points but with his all-round team contribution and, in particular, helping the younger players joining the team to settle in at the club”.
Danny will be wearing the #10 shirt again this season and his home, away and warm up shirts are available for own and loan. More information can be found by following this link: http://www.widneswild.co.uk/own-loan-grid/
