Widnes Wild are delight to welcome Kieran Strangeway to the club for the 2014/15 season. Keiran is a product of the well-respected Hull Junior Ice Hockey Club which has developed some exceptionally talented players over the years including current GB players Steve Lee, Dave Phillips and Matt Davis.
A talented defenseman 19 year old Kieran will be join the Wild and attend University in Liverpool. Kieran has played at Hull for the last 13 years, where he was the captain of the under 18’s as well as playing two seasons for Wild rivals, the Hull Jets. Additionally Kieran has played for the Northern Conference team as well as training with the Hull Stingrays Elite League team and icing for them in two games.
Keiran said; “I am really looking forward to playing for Widnes Wild, they are an up and coming club that had a great starting season last year. I have learnt a lot from playing for Hull Stingrays over the years and I hope to bring something more to Widnes in order for them to have an even more successful season this year.”
Wild Chairman, Matt Lloyd said, “I am delighted that Keiran has chosen to become a Wild player next season and it shows how good a structure we have put in place that we can attract players of Kieran’s potential. Mick and Mark are creating an environment to nurture young talent aligned to the clubs goal of winning promotion to Division One”.
