It is with great delight that the Widnes Wild are able to announce the return of Filip Supa to the Wild. Last season Filip scored 55 goals and got 25 assists giving him an 80 point return for the Wild over 34 games, giving him an average point’s return of 2.36 per game.
A true fans favourite Slovakian Supa was one of the first signings made when the Wild formed in 2013 and over two seasons he has established a reputation as a clinical flair player.
“I love playing for the Wild, so I am very happy that I am back. The fans have been great for the past 2 seasons and I believe we will make them very happy this year as we have the potential to win the league.”
“Over the summer I have had eye surgery, so I have spent a lot of time recuperating, relaxing and just enjoying life. For the last few weeks I have begun working out hard again, doing a lot of running and gym work so now I feel fit and ready for the start of the season,” Filip continued.
Head coach Scott McKenzie commented;
“Signing Filip Supa to me is a marquee signing. There has been interest from other clubs but Filip has remained faithful to the Wild and hopefully he will play a big part in gaining promotion into NIHL 1 Moralee Conference. There is no question that Filip will again be one of the deadliest players in front of the net again this season, surrounded by good players he will be ever present on the scoresheet. It is great to have him back.”
In addition to signing Filip this week the Wild were disappointed to learn that Matt Wainwright has chosen to leave the Wild as he has received an offer from another club. The Wild would like to thank Matt for his contribution to the Wild last season and we look forward to welcoming him back to Widnes with his new team.
