The RTL Widnes Wild would like to thank Greg for everything has done for the team since we formed in June 2013.
Greg announced on Facebook yesterday that he was retiring from playing but that he wanted to remain involved with the club. For #WildOnes that don’t follow Greg on Facebook his statement is here;
“What a weekend, finally got some silverware and broke our spell of coming in second and it feels like a good time to call it a day. I’ve had an amazing four years playing for Widnes and met some top people along the way, this club is even the reason I met my fiancée, but with work and family commitments I can’t commit to the club on the level I have been so I won’t be looking to return next season. Hopefully I can still be involved in some capacity though.
I just want to say a massive thank you to all the fans and background staff for their support over the past 4 years and all the coaches, managers and players involved with the Wild that have made my time at Widnes so good.
I’m sure this club will go from strength to strength and always have my support.
At least now Holly Farrow will be made up I won’t be coming home with stinking sweaty gear.”
Greg and his family will always be welcome at Widnes and Greg’s skates will be extremely difficult to fill.
We’re sure that the #WildOnes will want to celebrate Greg’s retirement and wish him and his family a fantastic future.
