In light of the current situation, the YKK Widnes Wild would like to thank everyone who has supported the team this season.
Firstly, the fans. You have, as always been amazing as always, so thank you. The players, coaches and volunteers all really appreciate the support you give to the team. Without you, there would be little point in playing. Lots of team claim to have the best fans in the league, but we know we have as you pack Planet Ice Widnes and make the loudest noise regardless of the results.
Secondly, the players and coaches. It’s been a strange season for the players with so many changes, but the players have shown in every game that they play for the name on the front of the shirt and not the name on the back. Without you there would be no Wild. Thank you for all you give to the club.
Thirdly, the volunteers. Without a doubt the best match night volunteers in the league. Without them no game could go ahead and the amount of time and dedication they give to the team is amazing. Thank you
Fourthly, the rink staff. The rink staff are all proud to be associated with the Wild and always go the extra mile to make sure everything is as good as possible for the team and the fans. Thank you.
Lastly the sponsors. We have fantastic sponsors who are also great advocates for the team. Thank you to YKK, CL Woodworking, DMH Tyres, UK Sepsis Trust, Sprakes and Sons, North West Blast and Paint Stripping, Young Gun Sports and Planet Ice.
At the moment there are still a lot of questions that we can’t answer however we can confirm that we will be appointing a new Head Coach for next season. We can also confirm that we have written to the league to ask for the playoffs to be rescheduled to the summer and are currently waiting for a reply. When more information become available, we will let the fans know as soon as possible.
Lastly, we will be holding an end of season event and presentation night so fans can meet the players, collect own ‘n’ loan shirts and have a great night. Clearly, we’re not able to confirm the details at the moment but will publish the details as soon as they are confirmed.
So, once again, a big thank you to everyone involved with the Wild. Please look after yourselves and each other and have a great summer.
