The Widnes Wild are proud to announce a partnership deal with Recycle Technology Limited (RTL) to provide an opportunity for Wild fans to recycle electrical goods safely and to raise money for the club.
Behind the scenes the Wild have been working hard to develop local community programmes and the partnership with RTL is one of many that will be rolled out around the local area to help raise the profile of the growing ice hockey club as whilst ensuring that we are a positive influence.
This Sunday will see the Wild begin their recycling programme by having a stall for people to donate unwanted electrical goods. Anything that has a plug or a battery can be dropped off in our designated tray to be recycled by RTL with any money raised being split between the Widnes Wild and a designated charity.
Coach Mckenzie had this to say about the partnership with RTL;
“We are urging all fans to bring any unwanted electrical goods down to the rink so they can be recycled properly. We are looking to extend this programme into primary schools across the region but to get things rolling we want to get a stall set out on a match night.”
“Whilst it is important we contribute to the local community by providing a great opportunity for social interaction and community bonding at our games we also have a responsible to use our position within the community to support positive change. By spearheading an initiative to help our environment we are sending a positive message and backing up our words with actions”, added McKenzie.
The Wild are on the road to Bradford on Saturday and return home to launch their recycling initiative on Sunday against the Coventry Blaze, 17:30 face off at Silver Blades Ice Rink, Widnes.
