Following a rare weekend without a game, the YKK-sponsored Widnes Wild return to Laidler Division action this weekend, with a visit to Bradford Bulldogs on Saturday, before entertaining local rivals Altrincham Aces at Planet Ice Widnes on Sunday 3rd November.
The Wild have some catching up to do in the league, as they set out to defend the Laidler Division title that they won last season, because they have been mainly playing cup games in the Midland Cup while the other teams have been playing league games.
Saturday’s opponents Bradford Bulldogs have made an excellent start to the season and have won 7 of their opening 9 league fixtures. The Aces have won just 3 of their 7 league games to date but are 1 point ahead of the Wild in the Laidler Division table, although Widnes have 4 games in hand over Altrincham and 6 over the Bulldogs.
The home game on Sunday against the Altrincham Aces faces off at 5.30 pm and doors open at 4.45 pm.
The Wild Under 11s team are at home at Planet Ice Widnes this Saturday 2nd November, when they take on the Kingston Under 11s – 6.15 p.m. Face Off.
Kingston have lost all three of their League games this season so far, although they have a very experienced roster and will provide stiff opposition for the fledgling Wild team.
The Academy Under 13s team had been scheduled to play Billingham at Planet Ice Widnes on Saturday evening as well, but that game has been postponed and will now take place at the end of April 2020.
