The YKK-sponsored Widnes Wild will be looking to build on the battling performance that saw them secure their first ever competitive point with a 5 – 5 regulation time draw away to Nottingham Lions in the NIHL Midland Cup last Sunday when they entertain the Telford Tigers 2 team in the Laidler Division this Sunday 17th November at Planet Ice Widnes – 5.30 p.m. face off.

Having mainly played cup games over the past two months, the Wild are now playing ‘catch-up’ in the league with all the other teams having played more games. The Tigers are currently 4th in the league table, with 11 points from 11 games to date. They have had a mixed start to the season and have yet to win a game against the teams above them. Last season the Tigers were a major threat to the Wild’s title ambitions and, indeed, were the only team in the Laidler Division to finish the season with a superior head–to–head playing record against the Wild.

Games against Telford are always keenly contested affairs and the game on Sunday is likely to be similarly entertaining. Face off is at 5.30 p.m. and doors open at 4.45 p.m.

Blackburn Hawks 2 and Widnes Wild have agreed to move the away fixture at Blackburn that had been scheduled for 16th November to Saturday 29th Feb 2020 Face off 5.45pm.

Wild Academy

The Wild Academy Under 13s are at home to Deeside Dragons Under 13s on Saturday – 6.15 pm face off. The Under 15s are away to Solihull on Sunday – 5.30 pm Face Off.

Widnes Wild Women

The Wild women’s team play their second league game of the season on Saturday, when they travel to Telford to take on the Wrekin Raiders – 6.20 p.m. face off.

The Raiders are the reigning league champions and have won both of their league games this season so far. The Widnes Wild Women have never played Telford before, so it will be a voyage of discovery for them.

Telford were knocked off the top of the League Table at the weekend, after Sheffield Shadows’ win over Nottingham Vipers. The Wild Women are just 2 points off the top of the league table and have games in hand over all the other teams.
