The Widnes Wild Academy Under 13 team played the last game of their debut season, losing out 15-3 to Nottingham U13s on Saturday.

The home side took the lead in the third minute and added three more by the first period break. Nottingham scored twice at the start of the second period before Widnes hit back with two goals from Adam Vigh-Vecsey.

Three more goals for Nottingham put the game well beyond the reach of Widnes before captain Aidan Lamb scored the Wild’s third and then 6 more unanswered strikes in the latter stages handed the hosts a convincing win.

The victory meant that second place Nottingham were able to leapfrog Blackburn to secure the league title while Widnes finished third in the league table in their first ever season of league competition.

The Wild Academy Under 13s finish the season with 4 wins from their 16 league games and 4 points ahead of both Deeside and Grimsby.
