Wild Push On

Wild wrapped up their regular season fixtures with a fairly comfortable victory, away at bottom club, Bradford Bulldogs. Wild took an early lead and were two goals up inside 4 minutes. Tom Revesz opened the scoring assisted by Joe Greaves and Lee Pollitt. Joe Greaves added a second with Pollitt and Wainwright assisting. Bradford came back strongly with goals from Dacres, Glasby and Richardson, to lead 3-2 in the 12th minute.

Wild steadied the ship and further goals from Ben Brown and skipper Matt Wainwright saw the visitors go in for the first interval leading 4-3.

The second period was a tight affair, but two goals from Filip Supa in the 37th and 40th minutes, put them comfortably ahead.

Four goals in the final period from Revesz, Wainwright (2) and Supa, gave Wild an emphatic victory. The final seven minutes saw the game boil over and both sides serving roughing penalties. Wild completed the regular season, eight points clear of fifth placed Deeside Dragons. A number of injuries were incurred, leaving doubts about some players availability going into Saturday nights play off tournament game with the Solihuul Barons. Hopefully most players should have recovered for the big Whitley Bay double header on 11th and 12th of April.
