Wild Women Host Telford In Crucial Game

The Widnes Wild women’s team play their final home game of the regular league season this Sunday 1st March when they take on Telford Wrekin Raiders at Planet Ice Widnes – 5.30 p.m. face off.

This is a hugely significant game as Widnes, Telford and Solway are all currently tied on 12 points at the top of the Division One North league table and all three teams are in with a shout of taking the league title.

The top two finishers in the division also qualify for the end of season play offs where they will meet up with the top two teams from Division 1 South to compete for a place in the Women’s Premier League next season.

On paper, Telford currently have the upper hand, as they have won all of their six league games to date – including victories over both Widnes and Solway. However, the Wild Women’s next two games are at home to Telford and then away to Solway, so March will be a crucial month for them.

The Wild Women go into Sunday’s game on the back of a five-match winning run and will be keen to put on a good show in front of their home fans.

The match on Sunday faces off at 5.30 p.m. and doors open at 5.00 p.m.
