The Widnes Wild women’s team’s Women’s Premier League game away at Slough Phantoms scheduled for this Saturday 4th February has been postponed and will be rearranged for a future date.

This means that the Wild women’s next league game will now be on Sunday 12th February when they face the current league leaders Chelmsford Cobras at Silver Blades Widnes in a 5.30pm face off.

Talking about the postponement, coach Owen Tennant said:

“While it’s a shame that the fixture has had to be re-scheduled, it is actually a bit better for us as we will, hopefully, have more players available then than we have for the original date.”

As regards team progress in general, Tennant said:

“Off the back of the double loss to Streatham we need to regain momentum and prove that we are a team that is here to win.”

“We have tried to implement a new structure to training sessions to work on more components of the game. I feel we have good a gameplay setup that proves every game but we struggle to keep this up throughout 3 periods. Hopefully this new structure will help conquer that problem and improve the team as a whole.”
