The NIHL Management Group (NLMG) have released for 2019/20 schedules with the details for NIHL Division 1 North (Moralee) and two Cup competitions.
Seven teams make up the Moralee Division competition, and they are joined by three teams outside of the division to form two five-team Cup groups with Widnes Wild taking part in the NIHL North Midlands Cup.
League play begins on Sunday September 8 with a single fixture, starting in full the following weekend. The final league games are scheduled for March 14/15 before three weekends of playoffs featuring top six sides in two groups of three teams.
The NIHL 1 North Finals weekend is on April 11/12 with the venue to be confirmed.
The two Cup competitions feature five teams in a group playing one home, one away with the top four sides reaching semi finals and then on to a final. Dates have been set for the Cup ties in the schedule – semi finals 18/19 January with the finals on 15/16 February.
An NLMG spokesman said:
“We’re pleased to get another set of fixtures agreed and published, this division features three teams outside the regular league teams so there is an added layer of complication.
“However the clubs have been great in working to get agreement as quickly as possible and now we can look forward to four trophies up for grabs by next April.
“After yesterday’s NIHL 1 South release, there is also the NIHL 1 Championship game scheduled at Coventry during the Final Four weekend on April 18/19 so there is a lot to play for and we wish all NIHL 1 North teams the very best for the new season.”
