Xtreme Ice Challenge


Xtreme Ice Challenge is back by popular demand, and it’s coming to Widnes!

Xtreme Ice Challenge is a course set up for skaters to compete in a time trial format. The course is set up to test your speed and agility on the ice with various turns, jumps and tunnels. The 2 fastest skaters from each event will receive an invite to the Xtreme Ice Challenge Finals in Coventry to compete for cash prizes as shown on the poster below.

The Challenge has already taken place in Coventry, Birmingham, Uttoxeter and Cannock and will be coming to Widnes on the 14th July.

Our event will start at 5pm, with a introduction to all competitors. A live DJ will be hosting and giving details off each individual heat, the heats are as follows;

17:05 – Junior Competition
17:45 – Ice re-surface
18:00 – Figure Skating Presentation
18:10 – Ladies Competition
18:30 – Mens Competitions
19:45 – Start of Free skating session for all competitors

The Rinks Asst.Manager Paul Coby, who is in charge of organising the Xtreme Ice Challenge at the Widnes Rink said;

As you can see from the schedule it’s going to be a fun packed evening for all concerned. We have both Hockey and Figure skaters getting involved and we are encouraging them to bring along their family members for support. Here at Silver Blades Widnes, we will also offer prizes for the winners of our heats as we feel it will enhance the atmosphere and competition between all involved.

As the Challenge is a national event there will be a small spectator fee of £3.00.
