The Widnes Wild women‘s team have announced the return of Daisy Lloyd-Hazlegreaves for the current 2019/20 WNIHL Division 1 North season.
Daisy joined the Wild women last season and played in 12 Women’s Premier League games, mainly in defence. She also has a wide experience of university ice hockey and has played 62 games for Birmingham and Leeds teams over the past 5 seasons.
Netminder Stephanie Drinkwater has been named Wild women’s team’s Player Of The Month for October.
This is a new initiative for this season and is an extension of the official player awards that have been recently introduced for the 5 divisions of the WNIHL women’s competition. The coaches of all the teams in the various divisions send in their nominations from their own clubs and an overall winner is announced, with prizes being sponsored by Oddballs clothing.
While not featuring in the short list for the national league award for October, Drinkwater is the Wild women’s team’s own Player of the Month and was presented with a “Puck Yeah” winners’ sweatshirt.
The Wild Women are next in action on Sunday, 15th December when they take on Solway Sharks Ladies at Planet Ice, Widnes – 5.30 p.m. face off.
