The YKK sponsored Widnes Wild are pleased to announce the signing of former Blackburn defenceman Jack Murray for the forthcoming 2021/22 NIHL season.
Murray has played Moralee Division hockey with the Hawks for the past two seasons and also played a season with the Hawks2 team in 2017/18.
Jack is a product of the Blackburn junior system and is a former captain of the Hawks U18 team. He has made 106 senior appearances to date at NIHL level for the Hawks teams, scoring 6+11 and picking up 110 penalty minutes.
Wild player coach Richard Haggar said of Murray:
“Jack has a bright future ahead of him at only 20 years old. He is one who fits the Widnes style of play I want to bring this season and has experience of playing D1 over the last 2 seasons for Blackburn so having the opportunity to bring him in was one I couldn’t turn down. I have no doubt he will work hard to continue his own development as the season goes on and showcase his talent for the Wild this season.”
Talking about his move to the Wild, Murray said:
“I’d like to thank Widnes for the opportunity to sign for the upcoming season. It will be good to finally get back on the ice after the break and see us compete in a higher league.”
Jack will wear the number 71 shirt and his home, away and warm-up shirts are available to own ‘n’ loan. More information can be found by following this link.
