The YKK sponsored Widnes Wild are pleased to announce the signing of exciting young player Adam Jasecko on a 2-way arrangement with Laidler Division Hull Jets for the forthcoming 2022/23 NIHL season.
The 17 year old originally hails from Slovakia but has played junior hockey at Hull for the past 4 seasons and thus qualifies as British player.
Jasecko played for the Hull Jets in the Laidler Division last season – helping them to a second place finish in the league – and coming out as their highest goalscorer with 17 goals in 14 games. He was also voted “Fans Forward Of The Year” and “Fans Young Player Of The Year” at the Jets club end of season awards.
Talking about Adam Jasecko’s joining the Wild, Widnes head coach Richard Haggar said:
“Adam is a very bright prospect. I had the pleasure of watching Adam play several times last season and saw what he has to offer. He is a quick, skillful player, knows where the net is and is able to finish a hit. His stats last year speak for themselves with 32 goals and 19 assists in 16 games at Under 18s as well as 22 goals and 9 assists in 20 games overall in his first season at Division 2 with the Hull Jets.”
“You can see he has come through an exceptional junior system at Hull playing with the Jets last year has paid dividends for him. He will continue to play with Hull Jets this season to maximise his ice time and development as well as training with Hull Seahawks.”
Adam Jasecko said: “I can’t wait to play for the Wild this season. I had a fantastic first season with Hull Jets and I hope to do the same for Widnes.”
“It is a fantastic opportunity to be able to play for the number 1 team in Division 1 and I hope the Wild fans love my hockey. This will be an exciting season for me and my new team.”
Adam Jasecko will wear the number 24 shirt. His home, away and warm up shirts are available to “own and loan” at cost of £80.00 per shirt for the season.
