The YKK sponsored Widnes Wild are pleased to announce the signing of former Sheffield forward Nathan Parkes-Britton for the forthcoming 2021/21 NIHL season.
Parkes-Britton has been a worthy opponent of the Wild in recent seasons with the previous Sheffield Senators team in the Laidler Division and has scored some 350 points in 230 games over 10 seasons at D1 and D2 level.
He is a product of the highly respected Sheffield youth development system, played EIHA conference hockey at U11 and U17 level and was an U18 league champion with the Sheffield Steelhawks.
Nathan made his senior debut in the 2010/11 season aged just 17, and made appearances for both Senators and Spartans teams. He was voted a member of the North 2 second All Star Team at the end of the 2016/17 season and also NIHL Player of the Month for March 2018.
He was top scorer for the Senators in the 2013/14, 15/16 and 16/17 seasons and in the top 5 for all the other full seasons that he has played for them. He has also been alternate captain for 6 out of the past 7 seasons and was team captain in 2014/15.
Talking about his move across the Pennines to the Wild, the player said: “I’m really happy that Rich (Haggar) wants me here. It’s a team I’ve wanted to play for for a while now, the setup is second to none in the league and it’s always fun to play there with the fans – so I can’t wait to get going!”
Widnes Player Coach Richard Haggar said of Parkes-Britton: “Nathan is an excellent all round player. He has been one of the stand out players in Division 2 now for a number of seasons and, when the opportunity came to sign him, I wasted no time in having him involved at Widnes. Nathan is certainly one to watch for all Widnes fans out there next season!”
Nathan will be wearing number 10 for the new season and his home, away and warm up shirts are available to own ‘n’ loan here.
