The YKK-sponsored Widnes Wild return to action after a weekend off with a trip to face Nottingham Lions in the Three Rivers Cup this Saturday 24th April – 7.45pm face off.
The new look Wild team lost their two opening games in this competition – 2-6 at home to Nottingham and 5-2 away to Sheffield – but, with all teams playing each other twice at home and twice away, there is still plenty of time to make up lost ground.
Sheffield beat Nottingham in the only other cup game played to date and currently sit top of the three team table with 4 points from two games.
This evening – Friday 23rd April – sees some Wild players representing the Great Britain Universities teams in challenge games at iceSheffield. Brady Doxey and Peter Toth ice for the men’s side when they take on the Milton Keynes Thunder at 6.30pm and Sav Sumner from the Widnes Wild women’s team plays in the women’s game against the Solihull Vixens at 8.45.
All games are currently being played behind closed doors due to Covid safety restrictions but will be streamed live on the internet.
